Brisbane Sth: Recycle your unwanted TVs and computers for free

Brisbane Sth: Recycle your unwanted TVs and computers for free

19 August 2018

Free recycling in Brisbane southside for your old computers and televisions

It is always a good time to clean-up and declutter. That includes safely recycling unloved laptops, printers, scanners, keyboards and IT accessories, including all those cables and power supplies.

Drop Zone by MRI is making it easy for householders and small businesses in metropolitan Brisbane to keep their electronic waste (or ewaste) out of landfill.

Obsolete laptops, desktop computers, monitors, printers, scanners, copiers, mobile phones and their accessories contain materials that we need to recover and recycle to manufacture new products. Sending them to landfill is not only a waste of scarce resources, it can potentially harm the environment and human health where hazardous substances like lead or cadmium may leach into waterways if not disposed of safely and correctly.

Over 95% of e-waste collected is recycled, and none of the collected items are resold or remarketed.

Eligible items are:

  • Computers
  • CRT/LCD Monitors
  • Keyboards/Mouse
  • Printers/Scanners/Fax Machines
  • All Electrical Cables
  • Televisions and projectors
  • Network equipment and Modems
  • Hubs/Routers/Switches
  • Communication Modules
  • Communication Racks
  • PABX
