Emerald! Recycle your obsolete TVs and computers!

21 May 2018

Free recycling for your old computers and televisions

It is always a good time to clean-up and declutter. That includes safely recycling unloved laptops, printers, scanners, keyboards and IT accessories, including all those cables and power supplies.

Drop Zone by MRI is making it easy for householders and small businesses to keep their electronic waste (or ewaste) out of landfill.

Obsolete laptops, desktop computers, monitors, printers, scanners, copiers, mobile phones and their accessories contain materials that we need to recover and recycle to manufacture new products. Sending them to landfill is not only a waste of scarce resources, it can potentially harm the environment and human health where hazardous substances like lead or cadmium may leach into waterways if not disposed of safely and correctly.

Over 95% of e-waste collected is recycled, and none of the collected items are resold or remarketed.

Drop-off location on Friday 1st June:

If you live in the Emerald area, you can drop-off your old and unwanted televisions, computers and IT accessories for free at the JJ Richards Emerald site:
